Told through athletes in moments of focus, Pepper examines the self, homeopathy and the pressure of time passing. The first film of Goes Electric, a new series of experimental documentaries about reality and pseudoscience, Pepper centres on the conflict between the demands of performance and the realities of the mind. Constructed from hand‑painted and electrocuted black‑and‑white 16mm film, the project is produced through Autocolour, a self-developed colour film process using only black-and-white chemistry and ink to produce colour images. Each frame is rotoscoped and combined across three passes of 16mm film, creating a controlled, saturated image that anchors the film’s material approach.

Arco Voltaico explores the hidden life of a hydroelectric power station deep in the Swiss mountains. We are guided from the darkness into the pulsating heart of the facility, among massive conduits, towering turbines and a silent, unsettling control centre. We observe the annual procedure of magnetic particle inspection: a complex examination of the turbines aimed at detecting cracks and material defects. Through the technicians’ hands and their meticulous application of magnets and fluorescent powders, we follow every stage of the inspection, an open-heart exploration of the machine. The soundscape, built from recordings captured inside the plant, transforms the environment into an auditory landscape that makes the invisible presence of energy and technology tangible. Amid flashes of iridescent light and metallic reflections, Arco Voltaico reveals the delicate interplay between humans and machinery, fragility and power.
