Italy's first flying film showed the strides that land had made in aviation, preparing for military action under Fascism.The 3 comrades of the plot have their differences but work together and 2 of them at least find romance back on earth.
The film focuses on life in a World War II German penal battalion camp somewhere in Russia. The convicts include a heroic doctor unjustly convicted of avoiding military service, an officer who retreated against orders, and common criminals. It shows their life in the camp, clearing mines, living in trenches on the front line.
Set in the civil war, the stooges are spies for the north. They impersonate southern officers and infiltrate the enemy ranks to get valuable information. On the run when they are discovered, they hide in a cannon and are blown back to their northern headquarters.

The story of Greek patriots' struggle against the Nazi invaders in May 1941, when German troops landed on the island of Crete. Lovrinci, Eastern Croatia, 1991. Kuzma Glavan, a middle-aged carpenter struggling to provide for his sickly mother, starts a relationship with the much younger Ana Šokčević, a teacher at the village school. The parents of both parties object to this relationship, however, they persist and soon their whirlwind romance results in marriage. However, their seemingly idyllic family life is thwarted when the ethnic conflicts between Croats and Serbs in the area start growing violent.
