In June 1945 Yamauchi Fusako goes alone to Manchuria where her husband, Setsuo, a second lieutenant of the Kwantung Army, is based. At that time, 200,000 Japanese had settled in Manchuria, a Japanese occupied territory, as settler communities. Fujita Hideo’s family worked hard to clear the wilderness, but the Soviets are lying in wait for an invasion of Manchuria from the North. Fusako is safely reunited with her husband at the headquarters of the Kwantung Army’s Fifth Training Squadron in Manchuria’s Dahushan. Setsuo also takes good care of his beloved wife, but his position is an instructor to the young soldiers who will eventually carry out suicide attacks. He wonders if he should have summoned her and speaks of these mixed feelings to his commanding officer, Michiba Kazuo, a first lieutenant. Michiba is concerned about Setsuo’s attempts to cherish his wife before the coming showdown on homeland. Fusako learns about life in Manchuria from Michiba’s wife, Etsu.
On a global scale, war is always either further away or closer. In the film we see the tragic day from many perspectives. The narrator talks, looks through photographs and documents, and talks about other wars, about other children: Japanese, Cambodian, Balkan, Rwandan, Syrian. Documentary footage mixes with animation to create a kind of inner world landscape.

Frank (Nazi Secretary of State and Chief of police in the Protectorate of Bohemia a Moravia) discusses with his commanders how to transform the city into an impregnable fortress, but the Praguers do not intend to wait any longer. From the early hours of 4th of May people start assembling in the streets and tearing down German signs. On the next day, the 5th of May, the uprising begins.

Spin-off of war drama «Snow Leopard» (2010) from perspective of Xu Hu character In 1944, Zhou Weiguo secretly dispatched Xu Hu, a member of the Snow Leopard Special Forces, to the Japanese Japanese Police Command to rescue the arrested Soviet Red Army intelligence officer Tian Chong. The rescued Tian Chong brought intelligence on the border defense map of the Kanto Army. Zhou Weiguo agreed to let Xu Hu cooperate with the military headquarters to fight in the north. A carefully arranged lethal trap was waiting for the Snow Leopard Special Forces.
