Paris, nowadays. Tough Dog is a world famous rapper. Challenged to a rap battle by The Kalixte, a rising star with millions of followers, he is under pressure. A week before the battle, Tough Dog wakes up in the body of a cute little kitten, whereas the kitten’ spirit lands in Tough Dog’s Body. To reverse the situation back to normal he has to ask Kim, a shy young girl for help. In exchange, Tough Dog will teach her to become popular. The young girl and the rapper, in a kitten’s body, are in for a ride!

Hum lives in a refugee camp near Hamburg. He loves films and finances his visits to the cinema by selling lost properties from cinema visits in the refugee camp. One day he meets Anna and her friend Ida. At a dinner together in the shared flat of the two, they find out that they all share a love of music. Anna and Ida can sing great together and Hum shares the contact with his friends who play in a band. A timid and touching love story develops between Hum and Anna. Both are looking forward to the first performance of the band, in which Anna now sings. But shortly before the performance, Hum is to be deported. Neither his love for Anna and music nor his imagination can save him from the everyday life of a refugee.

New Faces was a musical revue with songs and comedy skits tied together by a quirky plot. It ran on Broadway for nearly a year in 1952 and was then made into a motion picture in 1954. The film was basically a reproduction of the stage revue with a thin plot added. The plot involved a producer and performer (Ronny Graham) in financial trouble and is trying to stave off an angry creditor long enough to open his show. A wealthy Texan offers to help out, on the condition that his daughter be in the show.
